Day 6: To Clabber or Not to Clabber
Today's stats:
Energy level: Medium-Good (improving!)
Overall weight loss: -7.8 lbs (still no change since Day 4)
Tongue: Mild coating (still improving!)
Mood: Excellent
Mental clarity: Excellent
What an eventful day! If you read my post from yesterday, you'll recall that I asked Organic Pastures about the claims that "Heal Your Gut Guy" (HYGG) made about their milk in his YouTube video (I posted the video yesterday). Basically HYGG said the flash chilling killed the bacteria. Organic Pastures said it didn't. So I posted an update on yesterday's post, and I also posted a comment on the video, repeating what Organic Pastures had told me. I left a message with Organic Pastures clarifying that HYGG pointed to the fact that their milk doesn't clabber (aka turn into yogurt) when left out as proof that the bacteria is dead. I got a reply from both of them this morning.

The video you are talking about identifies that opdc raw milk does not culture easily.
This is true because it is so clean. Because we use super clean milking conditions we have far fewer bacteria in our raw milk. It’s the dirt that actually provides the bacteria to easily clabber raw milk. That’s why we have a longer shelf life when kept cold and fresh.
Other raw milks start out with higher bacteria counts and because of the added little bits of dirt, they clabber more easily.
Dirt is not an enemy. But when it comes to pathogen tests and state of CA compliance, dirt is not your friend.
If anyone wants to clabber opdc raw milk. Just buy the Kefir. Or.... add some yogurt. To initiate the lactofermentation process. Lactobacillus does not come from inside the udder. It comes from the teat canal or the surface of the udder. We clean our udders really well. That is the issue being addressed.
High bacteria count raw milk has been the norm on big dairies that’s send milk off of pasteurization. That is not opdc. Hope this helps. This is one of the reasons that opdc has grown and thrived.
Super clean and quickly chilled makes for great flavor and fresh longer.
Mark 👍🥛👌✅"
And here's the reply from HYGG: "Yes, I have left their milk on the counter at room temperature and the milk didn't clabber, showing that probiotics in the milk are dead.
Try it and see for yourself. If your milk clabbers, then it means the probiotics are still alive, if not, then the milk is dead. You can still use their milk to make yogurt by using a starter tho."
So there you have it, friends. Organic Pastures will not clabber if you leave it out at room temperature, due to reduced bacterias content and no "dirt". Soooooooo... I dunno what to make of all this info-- but since I'm not using this milk as a cure for my gut problems, I'll keep using Organic Pastures milk for my fast and not stress about it. I suppose the clabber-factor is something to consider if you're using milk to heal a gut problem. That said, you can just add some kefir or yogurt into it.
Ooh, speaking of kefir! Check out this video on how to make your own kefir at home. Interestingly, the woman in the video uses Organic Pastures milk, and she healed herself of Crohn's disease... sooooo-- I guess it can't be that big of a "mistake" to use their milk for healing the gut. Again, I'm not particularly concerned about it. My guts are doing great! I am still having bowel movements daily (I'm sure you were reeeeeally curious about that-- you're welcome 😜), and I honestly feel fantastic. I'll be taking some psyllium husk tomorrow to help "sweep" my digestive tract. I figure that's a good idea since I haven't had any fiber in my diet for a week. We'll see what happens.

In other news, I just found out that someone stole my identity, bought a Lexus, got a bunch of parking tickets, and Lord know what else! So I gotta deal with all that tomorrow. Fun.
What's interesting to note is that I honestly think this fast is helping me maintain a positive mental state. I received a LOT of stressful news today--not just the identity theft--and I still managed to keep my spirits up. My mood was pretty much unaffected. I'm feeling so... stable. Grounded. And that's a great feeling to have in the midst of such tumultuous times. More and more I believe this fast is divinely guided, and I'm confident that it will yield some wonderful results physically, mentally, and spiritually.
