Day 10 - 17: Cruising Along
Today's stats:
Energy level: Great!
Overall weight loss: - 9.9lbs
Tongue: Mild coating
Mood: Excellent
Mental clarity: Excellent
Well there wasn't too much to report the last week or so, other than a little weight loss (about -10lbs so far). A few days ago, I made the mistake of thinking I could melt a little raw cheddar cheese in my milk (also from Organic Pastures), just to add a little flavor. That didn't go well. I definitely don't recommend doing that 😂 It upset my stomach pretty bad. So since then, I've been good about sticking to just the milk and kefir. What I'm doing today is making some paneer. This is a much lighter cheese, so it should be easy to digest, unlike the cheddar. I added some raw cream to the milk for the paneer (a tip I found online), and I'll be using fresh lemon juice. We'll see how it goes.
Overall, I'm feeling great. My dad made popcorn last night and it smelled SO GOOD. I do miss eating all the foods I enjoyed before the fast, but I am noticing some great results so far and plan to keep going.
My skin is looking REALLY good (if I do say so myself 😂). My complexion is really clear and smooth, hydrated-- and no more puffy bags under my eyes when I wake up in the morning.
My thinking is also really clear, and my mood has been great. I did have a brief "hangry" moment the other day at work, and I was a bit snappy at a co-worker. That was after an entire day on the phone dealing with identity theft (calling credit bureaus and banks, filing reports, etc-- so I was a bit stressed out from that), then I taught a rowing class without having enough milk beforehand--so yeah I was HANGRY after all that. Luckily, my co-worker was very understanding after I explained that I had been dealing with $134k in fraudulent loans all day without any solid food 😂 But other than that, my mood has been great!
I've also noticed my dreams are more frequent and vivid. I think this is a good sign that I'm getting into a deep REM cycle. So that's cool.
It honestly doesn't seem like it's been 17 days of this. It's going by pretty quickly, and so far no problems. I'm not talking to angels yet, but there's still time. Another 25 days, to be exact.
Also, I've dialed in a great recipe for my milk "soup": Milk, ghee, turmeric, cumin, coriander, black pepper, Himalayan salt, curry leaves and a dash of maple syrup. I heat it all up until the milk gently foams, then strain it into a mug. It's seriously SO GOOD.
Alright, gotta go finish making my paneer. I'll let you know how that works out.

According to the National Sleep Foundation, REM sleep is believed to benefitlearning, memory, and mood. It is also thought to contribute to brain development in infants. A lack of REM sleep may have adverse implications for physical and emotional health.
